In sports, the key goal is either you get the highest scores or simply win over the other competitors. It's all about have the lead, dominating, and having the upper hand over them. On the other hand, the game of golf is a matter of having less and more -more distance, and less strokes made in sinking the hole. The perfect drive, superior club, and the appropriate strategy will ultimately bring in the low score that results in a good game. However, to be able to do that perfectly, you need to do more than simply "whack and go."

Hazards in golf are bunkers, which could either be sand traps or water hazards. Even though these water and sand holes will help beautify the course you are playing in, they can be silent killers of your whole game and ruin your score greatly. To gain the good scores, a golfer also needs to understand how to adapt his or her shots so it will not that tough to go through these. Besides the two hazards, there are other game spoilers which includes tees and weedy areas of the course. Just when you thought that they look the course real nice, you might find yourself fuming in frustration and whack your club.

Sandtraps and Fairway Bunkers: A bunker is a depression in the course and in the Fairway, and sometimes contain sand. A player won't have any penalties, but the ball should be put back into the fairway or the green. To emerge from the bunker, the player must also choose a club with respect to the lie of the ball, if it's good or bad. A lie is the placement where your golf balll is after you delivered a shot. A good lie is easy to deal with not only as the ball will be on a flat surface, but also it won't need any club changes at all. A fairway bunker will generally provide a good lie. To recover, you have to have a slightly open stance and moderately bury your feet to maintain balance. Focus on striking at a distance two inches near the ball and take the shot. However, a bad lie occurs when the ball ends up in a Sand Bunker. It can either be a buried or fried egg lie. The fried egg lie is referred to when the ball looks like an egg yolk with the way it is buried. You need to slightly rotate the golf club to make the clubface to point towards the ball rather than the sky, and hit the ball and the sand at the same time. The buried lie will be a lot harder since a large part of the golf ball is buried. To solve a buried lie, you can use the same technique in a fried egg lie, but you ought to hit harder and utilize a pitching wedge.

Water Hazards: This is quite a big crisis among golfers. It can either be a swamp, pond, or lake within or along the greens. Things will get very ugly here simply because when the ball lands on this type of hazard, you will earn a penalty stroke. If you are near or must get through a water hazard, you should make sure to hit your ball a bit far, at least 15-20 yards away from the water. You must deliver a full and aggressive swing.

Blindshot/Blindspot: This might be anything from trees, stones or obstacles blocking a player's view of the hole or green. You should plan a path where you want you ball to go- top of the tree or top of the rock that is concealing your sight. Walk or drive by first until you see a view of the green then plan the path. If your ball will land in the trees, you have to ensure that your ball will not fly as it can collide with the branches of the trees leading to more harm to your shot. Strive for making the ball rolling than getting the usual height as you normally do.

Swamps/Weeds: Treat these just like the normal water hazard, concentrate on making your shot a bit too far from the hazard in order to avoid it from landing there. A Mid-Iron Club will give you extra loft and facilitates to steer you away from the hazard.

Getting into these hazards are normal. After plenty of practice, this won't entirely make you safe from these, but learning concerning how to deal with them will be better for your game. Being adaptive is definitely an advanatage to playing golf.
