Tiger Woods is poised to drop out of golf's world top 10 but his star power remains strong. The long-time No.1 has not won a tournament since the 2009 Australian Masters and is expected to drop to at least No.11 when the rankings are updated on Monday - ending 14 years in the top 10.

But Woods continues to be the biggest sports celebrity with mizuno mx-300 irons in the world according to Forbes magazine which has him at No.6 on its annual 'Celebrity 100' list of the most powerful people in the entertainment business released on Thursday.

Woods is the highest ranked athlete on the Forbes list, sitting ahead of NBA star LeBron James (10th), tennis legend Roger Federer (25th) and soccer icon David Beckham (tied for No.35). Forbes said the 19 athletes on the list this year earned a combined $US647 million ($A609.46 million). In 2008, Woods won the most recent of his 14 majors at the US Open in San Diego, California after which his career slumped, firstly due to a crippling knee injury that required surgery, and then over the infidelity that wrecked his marriage.

He started this year at No.2 and has been steadily dropping points. With more points coming off his two-year ledger, the highest he can be in the next ranking is No.11.

The last time Woods was not in the top 10 was April 6, 1997. He won the Masters the next week with mizuno jpx ad irons for the first of his 14 majors, and has stayed in the top 10 ever since. Woods, who tied for fourth at the Masters last month, withdrew from The Players Championship last week because of injuries to his left knee and left Achilles.
